Speculations on NewJeans’ Future Emerges after Min Hee-jin’s Cryptic SNS Update

On January 21, Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of NewJeans’ former agency ADOR, published two peculiar photos on her Instagram. In particular, her images featured something that looks like cassette tapes, but turns out to actually be Bluetooth speakers.
As this is Min Hee-jin’s first SNS update in ages, various speculations emerged about the true meaning of this post.
In particular, while some believe the post was simply for aesthetic purpose, others suspect that it could be a hint for a future release of NewJeans, especially as it fits NewJeans’ Y2K image to a tee.

Some also alleged that NewJeans may be re-releasing their old music on cassette tapes or via other “vintage” formats like floppy discs, vinyls, and VHS.
“It’s definitely a hint”, one netizen wrote, while another said, “Imagine if they release music on cassette tapes and not on streaming. Taking that y2k concept way too seriously”.
On the other hand, NewJeans’ future remains uncertain with both positive and negative signs.
While the girl group is receiving support from advertisers – such as Coca-Cola and most recently StoneHenge, elements such as the unclear termination of their contract with ADOR and Hanni’s upcoming visa expiration makes the situation perilous.
